Connected to mains power, and successfully powers a washing machine, toaster, microwave, fridge/freezer, hot water cylinder, tea kettle, and other lights throughout the house, as well as heaters and fans.
If we walked through the house from the street we see that it is nestled behind a lovely thick privacy screen of chinese grass, coming up to the eco deck we have a set of large glass windows with a sliding glass door entrance. This area has endless options for rest and relaxation or the avid gardener. Absolutley beautiful area to soak up the winter sun at this time of year.
As we continue into another sliding glass door we enter the open galley area. This area consists of a split level floor, which at the entrance gives room to those muddy boots and bulky coats to be placed, then a straight run into a second kitchenette, which then flows into the laundry on the right and bathroom in the left.
The original 1913 cottage sits to the left of the galley, and holds a stainless steel kitchen, which boasts of a VERY large double sink, with scrap disposal hole, and over 4 metres of stainless benches. A lovely big stainless 5 burner with 900mm gas oven stove with
a stainless range hood await some fun cooking moments.
Paneling on the wall of the kitchen is original tongue and groove Tas Oak. Along with tongue and groove Tas Oak ceiling and floor. As you work in the kitchen, you can look out one window into the sunny glassed deck to the north, or throw your glance to the east through an original 4 pain window, or turn and view the dining table that stands cosily in front of the original bricked open fire.
Once we come oit of the kitchen area we cross the galley and come down one step into a second lounge with a free standing Conara woodheater. Here enterainment reigns with Nbn box giving option to satellite tv, and ample space to seat with family and friends listening to music or playing a board game. This room boasts of Tas Oak flooring and Baltic pine ceiling, with very rare original hardwood boarding on one of the walls.
Burnie board from the 80's reminds us of the height of that era, being contrasted with original Tas Oak tongue and groove doors and flooring throughout the remainder of the 3 bedrooms. Two of which are warm, cosy and private, and the third had the Burnie board removed between it and the lounge to extend the lounge. This makes the lounge sound small, bit it isn't, 5.5metres long by 4 metres wide, it has ample room, the bedroom adjacent to it measures 3.5 metres by 4.5 metres. Up to you whether you would like to continue with this idea, or remain it as a bedroom.
As we wander out the back, we have a lovely 1.8 metres tall chicken netting fence, which keeps the doggy safe in a lovely yard. Cement and brick steps climb up to the outdoor toilet, where you can relax and watch the stars. Ascending a little further and there is a lovely sized cement floor garden shed, which in the past was used as an income for a previous family for eggs from their chickens. This little shed is so cute, with a bit of work and imagination could be turned into an air bnb style cabin like Little Falu. Walking onwards and upwards we come to our most favourite part of the backyard, a possum and bird proof garden, this measures about 12metres by 9 metres, it grew corn, cucumbers, tomatoes, strawberries, aloe vera, and so many other fruits and veggies in it this past summer. Such a peaceful spot to spend time in. As we potter back down the hill we can turn right and come to a second shed, this was the original garage, but has since been purposed for a garden shed. It has a cold water tap basically connected to wash hands etc and a lovely cement floor. Great little area for tinkering.
Coming down a bit further we come to the eastern side of the house where the original cottage sits, in here is a level grassed yard in the making. Walking below here is the main carpark for the cars, this area can hold 3 vehicles, which is adjacent to the eco deck / sun area in front of the kitchen.
If we walk out onto the pathway and up toward the western side of the property we come to another carpark area which fits two vehicles. Pottering up the hill again we travel on a driveway which follows the block all the way to the boundary line and then some through a lease hold to the back street/road which drives you along the back of all the houses in your street and finally comes out back down onto the highway in time. As you go up this driveway, on your left is another garden area awaiting to be created, then the existing garden, then the last area which is a tier with a 24,000 gallon poly tank, and a large flat gravelled area, which could be a future site for another shed, garage, or even a little air bnb.
evening walks listening to the many birds and watching the ample wildlife bound in front of you.
After all this, you can view Mt. Cameron from the top of the property, which is a real treat.
